On October 8-9, 2025, Arena Lviv hosted the Tourism and Hospitality Forum – an annual professional platform that brought together leading tourism market players, government representatives, investors, tour operators, and educational institutions.

Today, tourism and the HoReCa industry in Ukraine represent not only hospitality but also a key driver of economic recovery, value transformation, and strategic development. That is why academic staff from the Department of Economics, Management and Finance – Tetiana Sydorchenko and Viktoriia Shvachko (educational programs «Organization Management» and «Hotel, Resort and Tourism Service Management») – took an active part in the industry’s main event of the year.

The 2025 Tourism and Hospitality Forum became not only another professional gathering but also the official launch point of the 2026 tourist season. Its uniqueness lay in combining educational, innovative, and practical components, giving participants the opportunity to directly integrate the acquired knowledge into their professional activities.

First and foremost, the Forum became a platform for innovation and partnership: it facilitated new connections between representatives of the tourism business, educational institutions, and the public sector. According to participants, the Forum turned ideas into real projects and networking into effective professional contracts.

The second strategic dimension focused on shaping industry trends. More than 40 leading experts shared their vision for the future of tourism and the HoReCa sector, helping participants align with current market demands and adapt educational programs to modern challenges.

The third key element was hands-on learning. Thanks to the Forum’s intensive program, the amount of new knowledge, tools, and contacts gained over just two days was equivalent to an entire year of professional experience.

The Forum’s program fully matched current priorities in training specialists in management and tourism. Key panel discussions included:

  • «Routes of Memory: The Role of Tourism in Commemorating Ukraine’s War for Independence» – addressing legislative frameworks, memorial route development, and integrating national memory into tourism offerings.
  • «From Challenges to Opportunities: Successful Tourism Recovery Practices» – presenting real cases of territorial revitalization and destination branding (Tustan, Camino Podolico).
  • «Accessible Tourism: Inclusion as a Competitive Advantage» – discussing corporate social responsibility and inclusion as a factor of regional growth.
  • «Investment and Development» – analysis of successful infrastructure reconstruction and construction projects.
  • «Hotel Business in Transition» and «The HoReCa Success Formula 2026» – exploring hospitality transformations, new guest behavior models, and automation of operational processes.

Significant attention was paid to operational and marketing strategies in tourism:

  • During a travel blogger battle moderated by Max Uzol, participants discussed shaping Ukraine’s image in the global media space.
  • Visit Ukraine presented results of a unique 2022-2025 tourism flow study, offering data-driven insights for management decisions.
  • Separate sessions covered medical tourism, sales strategies, and future service models, showcasing practical tools for increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian tourism businesses.

Parallel to the discussion panels, two large exhibitions took place:

  1. Lviv Tourexpo 2025 – the main national platform for presenting new travel routes and partnership programs.
  2. «Hotel and Restaurant Business» – a specialized showcase of innovative technologies, process automation, and modern HoReCa trends.

Thus, the 2025 Tourism and Hospitality Forum became a catalyst for professional growth for future managers and industry specialists. Its true value lies in the integration of education, innovation, and practice, serving as a bridge between academia, business, and society.

Lecturers Tetiana Sydorchenko and Viktoriia Shvachko used this opportunity to deepen their expertise, expand professional networks, and prepare for the upcoming 2026 tourism season. Through the combined efforts of education, science, and business, a strong, modern, and sustainable tourism industry is being built in Ukraine.
