Fourth-year students majoring in 231 Social Work have begun an important stage of their academic journey – the preparation for writing their final qualification papers. This process serves as the culmination of their studies, combining theoretical knowledge and practical research skills acquired over four years of education.
To ensure effective organization of research activities, lecturers from the Department of Social Work and Inclusive Education held an introductory meeting for full-time and part-time students. During the session, they outlined the main stages of qualification paper preparation, deadlines, requirements for structure, content, and formatting, as well as conditions for admission to pre-defense and defense, specifics of the procedures, and criteria for evaluating research work.
Special attention during the meeting was devoted to issues of academic integrity. Lecturers explained in detail the procedure for plagiarism detection, emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical norms in research, and discussed the policy for using generative artificial intelligence in academic work.
The next step for students will be selecting a research topic that directly corresponds to the focus of their educational program, addresses current social challenges, and aligns with their scientific and professional interests. After that, topics will be approved with academic supervisors, marking the beginning of in-depth work on the selected research problem.
For the second consecutive year, students have the opportunity to independently choose their academic supervisors after reviewing the lecturers’ scientific publications, research directions, and professional interests. This approach encourages informed topic selection, increases motivation for scientific inquiry, and strengthens the partnership between students and faculty members in the process of preparing qualification papers.
The department’s academic staff sincerely wish all students inspiration, perseverance, and success in realizing their research ideas and achieving excellent results during the defense of their qualification papers.
