A Little Story of the BSPU Repository — 5,000 Publications Strong!

The Institutional Repository of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) has a unique story composed of two significant stages.

The first stage — a period of stable functioning before the war, when the repository served as a reliable tool for preserving academic research.

The second — a time of challenges, losses, and determined renewal, when we redefined its role and potential.

In July 2023, a new chapter began. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the university administration, librarians, and faculty members, a new website for the institutional repository was launched: https://dspace.bdpu.org.ua/home

We conducted a series of seminars and training sessions, developed regulatory documents, guidelines, and policies, and joined the international CORE (COnnecting REpositories) initiative, which unites repositories from around the world.

Achievements and Milestones of the Digital Archive

The first uploaded publications became a symbol of a new beginning. And in 2025, we are proud to announce that the BSPU Repository now hosts over 5,000 open-access scholarly works.

This is more than just a statistic — it is the result of shared effort, dedication, professionalism, and belief in the idea of open science.

We not only restored what was lost — we built something greater, better, and more accessible.

It is open to students, faculty, researchers, and everyone seeking high-quality knowledge.
