The Department of Choreography and Fitness is constantly looking for new forms of working with higher education students to make the educational process more dynamic, meaningful, and closer to the real artistic environment. One of these modern formats was a binary practical lesson within the educational component “Rhythm and Authentic Movement”, held for first-year students of the specialty B6. Performing Arts, specialization B6.03. Choreographic Art.
The class was held in a mixed format — simultaneously online and in person. Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department Yulia Taranenko carried out the educational process remotely, and Senior Lecturer of the Department, Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Natalia Kryvun worked with students directly in the classroom in Zaporizhzhia. The synergy of the teachers greatly inspired the students to be creative and active in class.
This combination of formats allowed not only to feel unity and mutual support among all participants, but also to create a real atmosphere of co-creation and kinship. The walls of the university were filled with the energy of movement, music, and inspiration.
During the class, students developed creative projects in rhythm, including creating and testing exercises to develop a sense of rhythm. During the training, students were able to not only improve their own skills, but also experience how dance pedagogy can combine modern technologies with the living art of movement.
The Department of Choreography plans to continue implementing similar integrative forms of classes that promote the development of creativity, team interaction, and professional skills of future choreographers.
