On December 20, 2025, a scientific seminar-practicum “Innovations in Physical Culture and Sports: from School Curriculum to Sports Improvement” was held at the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health, organized by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods.

The event was aimed at highlighting the current theoretical and practical aspects of implementing innovative approaches in physical education and sports and aroused considerable interest among higher education students studying in the educational and professional programs “Physical Culture” and “Physical Culture and Sports”.

Pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers from secondary education institutions and higher education institutions from different regions of Ukraine also took an active part in the event, which contributed to the expansion of professional dialogue and exchange of experience.

As part of the seminar-workshop, leading specialists from the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods of the BDPU presented their reports.

In particular, Vadym Samoilenko, a senior lecturer at the department, in his report revealed an innovative approach to the formation of students’ motor culture through children’s athletics; Lyudmila Konovalska, Master of Sports, Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, presented the topic “Inclusive Sports Without Borders: Methodological Principles of Wheelchair Basketball”. The report of Natalia Samsutina, Master of Sports, Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, was devoted to the topic of using the “Ringo” module as an effective means of implementing a competency-based approach in the physical education of students. All reports aroused lively interest and active discussion among the participants.

Conducting such scientific seminars-workshops confirms the systematic activities of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods of the BDPU, aimed at the dissemination of innovative educational practices, improving the quality of professional training of future specialists and developing scientific and methodological cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports.
