On March 20, 2026, a meeting of the working group was held to discuss proposals and comments from stakeholders at Berdiansk State Pedagogical University regarding the educational and professional program “Secondary Education (Defense of Ukraine)” (second (master’s) level).
The discussion was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the program coordinator, academic and teaching staff — members of the group responsible for updating and developing the educational program, stakeholders (directors of general secondary education institutions, employers, and partners), and students majoring in A4.16 Secondary Education (Defense of Ukraine) and graduates of this educational and professional program who are members of the working group.
The importance of improving the educational and professional program “Secondary Education (Defense of Ukraine)” stems from the need to ensure fundamental theoretical and practical training of highly qualified teaching staff. The meeting addressed current challenges arising during professional activities in the field of training future educators.
Overall, the educational and professional program for training candidates for the second (master’s) level of higher education, “Secondary Education (Defense of Ukraine),” is balanced and logical; aimed at developing highly qualified teachers who possess a wide range of pedagogical competencies to ensure a high-quality educational and upbringing process at the educational institution. During the discussion, only minor adjustments were made to the content of the educational program and the practical training of students, which will facilitate a deeper mastery of the acquired knowledge and skills by future teachers. For example, it was proposed to introduce content modules on modern technologies in military affairs (UAVs, electronic warfare, etc.) into the educational component “Current Aspects of General Military Training.” It was proposed to add a module on managing the activities of a study group for the “Defense of Ukraine” course to the discipline “Pedagogical Modeling of the ‘Defense of Ukraine’ Course.” Additionally, a proposal was made to add an elective discipline on the military history of Ukraine.
We sincerely thank all participants of the working group, particularly stakeholders and students, for their suggestions aimed at improving the training of specialists in the A4.16 Secondary Education (Defense of Ukraine) program at Berdiansk State Pedagogical University.
