Under the motto “One Step Closer to the Profession,” a four-week social and pedagogical practice was carried out by students of group 405SR-z, majoring in 231 “Social Work.” The key objective of the practice was not only to consolidate theoretical knowledge but also to develop a holistic understanding of the professional activity of a social pedagogue through hands-on experience.

The organization of the practice took into account the current security situation, which led to a flexible combination of distance and online formats. Familiarization with practice bases was conducted remotely, while further activities included online meetings, implementation of program-based tasks, work with professional documentation, and the use of open-access resources. To ensure effective communication and student support, regular consultations were organized, a learning environment was created on the Moodle platform, and оперативна interaction was maintained through a Telegram channel.

The final conference (March 18) became not only a formal reporting stage but also a space for professional reflection. Participants conducted an in-depth analysis of the completed tasks, explored the specifics of a social pedagogue’s work under contemporary challenges, identified pressing issues in the functioning of educational institutions, and outlined practical ways to address them. An important outcome was also the development of new professional competencies (both soft and hard skills) and a deeper understanding of their future professional roles. The final meeting was held in the format of a virtual panel discussion, fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and constructive dialogue.

We express our sincere gratitude to the practice supervisors and specialists of psychological services within educational institutions for their professional support, openness to cooperation, and for creating conditions that enabled students to gain real practical experience.

The students’ active engagement, responsible attitude toward assigned tasks, and strong interest in professional development demonstrate their readiness for effective work in the field of social work and open up new перспективи for professional growth. The university community continues to serve as a reliable support system in the professional development of future specialists, fostering their aspirations for self-realization and career advancement.
