On March 31, 2026, a regular meeting of the scientific club “Current Issues of Economics and Finance” was held for students of the educational and professional programs “Finance, Banking and Insurance” and “Business Economics”. The meeting was devoted to finance and investment in the recreational sector. The topic generated considerable interest and stimulated an active academic discussion. The session was conducted by the head of the club, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Management and Finance, H. Kostenko.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize students with modern approaches to financing and investment in the tourism sector, as well as to analyze international experience in the development of recreational and resort areas.

During the meeting, participants examined investments in tourism infrastructure using the example of Vietnam, where a positive impact of investments on industry development was highlighted. Particular attention was paid to the assessment of investments in recreational areas using the example of Taiwan, emphasizing the need to consider environmental and social factors. In addition, state investments in tourism in France and Spain were analyzed, confirming the important role of infrastructure and government support in enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism sector. The model of sustainable development of resorts in the Maldives, which combines a high level of service with environmental responsibility, was also discussed, along with ecotourism in the Caribbean region, focusing on the financing of environmentally oriented projects. The final stage of the meeting was devoted to discussing the prospects for the development of recreational and resort areas in Ukraine, particularly the need to attract investment, develop infrastructure, and implement international experience.

The discussion was joined by Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Economics, Management and Finance, L. Zavidna, who shared valuable academic insights and practical experience, significantly enriching the discussion and generating strong interest among students.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of active discussion, contributing to the deepening of students’ knowledge and increasing their interest in contemporary issues of economics and finance.
