An important stage in the professional development of students-journalists of the correspondence form of study has been completed – the training practice on the MTM TV channel (Zaporizhia). What began on February 9, 2026 as an exciting acquaintance with the editorial office, ended as a confident step into the profession.

During weeks of intensive work under the guidance of Associate Professor Anzhelika Shulzhenko and with the support of the head of the department Kristina Pirogova, future media professionals went from observers to full-fledged participants in the creative process.

The main achievements of the practice:

  • versatility: higher education students mastered the skills of a multimedia journalist, learning not only to work with text, but also to coordinate filming and understand the logic of editing;
  • stress tolerance: working under real broadcast deadlines taught future colleagues to make decisions quickly and maintain the quality of content under any circumstances;
  • рortfolio: interns return to study not only with new knowledge, but also with the first real stories and editorial tasks in their portfolio.

This experience confirmed the effectiveness of the strategy of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Journalism to maximally immerse students in the professional environment. Cooperation with the MTM TV channel became a platform where academic theory turned into practical skills.

“Internship on television is the best test of professional suitability. We saw how news is born and felt responsible for every word on the air”, – the interns noted.

The department expresses sincere gratitude to the MTM TV channel team for their mentorship and openness to young professionals. For many students, this experience became the final confirmation of the right path.

New horizons lie ahead, but the foundation laid in the editorial walls of MTM will become a reliable support in the future journalistic career.

Here’s to more broadcasts, interesting topics, and successful footage!

Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Journalism
