On April 3, 2026, the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Artistic Disciplines held an information event “Possibilities and Advantages of Non-Formal Education” for applicants studying in the educational program Secondary Education (Music and English) of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education.

During the event, it was emphasized that education seekers have the opportunity to master key skills, along with formal education, also through informal educational platforms and courses that are not part of the academic programs approved in HEI. Recognition of the results of such training is regulated by the “Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at the BSPU“, and the procedure for recognizing learning outcomes obtained in non-formal (informal) education applies to mandatory and elective educational components of the EP, as well as to their components. Applicants were thoroughly familiarized with the algorithm for recognizing the specified results, examples of results obtained by applicants for the Secondary Education (Music art and English) program within the framework of the practically-oriented performing educational components of the Vocal and Choral Training Practicum and the Instrumental Performing Training Practicum, as well as with online educational platforms where such education can be obtained. At the end of the event, the results were summed up and the need for informal education was emphasized to adapt future art teachers (Music art) to the modern requirements of the labor market and effectively form the professional competencies of the future specialist, which will ultimately contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the graduate of the Secondary Education Program (Music art and English).
