On April 22, 2026, the final scientific and practical conference of the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Professional Creative Research Competition in the specialty “Secondary Education (Technologies)” took place. The event brought together young researchers from various regions of Ukraine.
Throughout the competition day, participants presented innovative scientific ideas and demonstrated modern approaches to the development of technological education. Particular attention was drawn to the presentation by undergraduate student Iryna Pakina, who was awarded a Second Degree Diploma based on the competition results.
Her research work, “Digital Technologies in Teaching Crochet to 5th Grade Students,” addresses the актуal issue of integrating traditional practical skills with the capabilities of the digital educational environment. The study substantiates and tests a teaching methodology that incorporates modern digital tools into students’ project-based technological activities.
As part of the research, the author developed a teaching methodology using tools such as Canva, Google Slides, and Padlet, which support idea visualization, step-by-step product creation, and individualized learning pacing. The practical implementation was carried out through a creative project combining digital design with crochet production techniques.
The results of the pedagogical experiment confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed approach: a positive dynamic in students’ academic achievements was recorded, including a significant increase in high-level performance. This confirms the relevance of systematically integrating digital technologies into the teaching of the subject “Technologies.”
The academic supervisor of the research was Olha Kurylo, PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Professional Education and Technologies.
The achievement of Iryna Pakina is a significant result of persistent work, scientific inquiry, and a creative approach to solving актуal educational challenges. Her success demonstrates the high level of training of future technology teachers and serves as an inspiring example for students.
