Within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Festival of Science and the Week of Technological Education organized by the Department of Professional Education and Technologies, a scientific seminar entitled “From the Experience of Participation in the All-Ukrainian Student Professional Creative Competition of Research Papers in the specialty ‘Secondary Education (Technologies)’” was held.
The event was organized and moderated by PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Valentyna Peregudova and PhD, Senior Lecturer Olha Kurylo. The seminar became a platform for discussing current trends in the development of technological education, exchanging experience of participation in nationwide academic competitions, and presenting the results of student research.
During the seminar, participants became acquainted with the specifics of the All-Ukrainian Student Professional Creative Competition of Research Papers in the specialty “Secondary Education (Technologies)”, the final stage of which took place on April 22, 2026, in the format of an online videoconference hosted by Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University.
Particular attention was paid to the high level of organization of the competition, which consisted of two stages. The first stage involved anonymous peer review of research papers by leading experts from pedagogical higher education institutions of Ukraine. The evaluation criteria included the relevance of the topic, scientific novelty, practical significance, academic integrity, and validation of research results.
The second stage was conducted in the format of a public defense of research papers. Special attention was focused not only on the content of the studies, but also on the participants’ ability to present the results of their scientific work, engage in professional discussion, and substantiate their academic positions.
Participants of the seminar emphasized the relevance of the research presented at the competition, which addressed the digitalization of the educational process, STEM-oriented learning, media literacy development, modern approaches to technological training of students, and the integration of decorative and applied arts with modern technologies.
A particular source of pride for the department was the successful participation of first (Bachelor’s) level student Iryna Pakina, who was awarded a second-degree diploma according to the results of the competition. Her academic supervisor was PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Professional Education and Technologies, Olha Kurylo.
Holding such academic events contributes to the development of students’ research culture, the formation of professional competencies of future teachers, and the promotion of scientific activity in the field of technological education.
