As the speaker illustrates: “Ukraine has accumulated over 2 million hours of video from more than 15,000 crews – this is approximately 228 years of continuous video and 5–6 TB of new data every day”/ This is experience transformed into material for training, validation and improvement of artificial intelligence models.
The report raises the issue of control over this resource, “national security and Ukraine’s ability to maintain the value of its own data”, the role of AI in transforming observation into decisions and the associated risks.
As the vice-rector sums up on her Facebook page: “Data today is simultaneously a resource, memory, knowledge, evidence, infrastructure, strategic asset and responsibility”.
