The Centre for Teacher Competence Development Has Opened at Berdyansk State Pedagogical UniversityThe Centre for Teacher Competence Development has opened at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University – a modern educational and methodological space created for the professional development of teachers working in general secondary education institutionsThe Centre was established as part of the international Erasmus+ (KA-2) project LECTURE “Introducing Leading European Competences into Teacher Training Standard to Ensure Ukraine’s Resilience” (Registration number: 101179602 ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE-STRAND-3).

At the official opening ceremony, the Rector of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Ihor Bohdanov, delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the importance of establishing the Centre for the development of the university’s educational community. The Centre’s activities are aimed at systematically renewing teachers’ professional potential and implementing European approaches and innovative educational practices.

First Vice-Rector and LECTURE project coordinator Olha Hurenko, together with Kristina Petryk, Head of the Department of Pedagogy who has been appointed Director of the Centre, outlined its main areas of work: implementing professional development and micro-credential programs for teachers, conducting webinars, trainings, workshops, master classes, and pedagogical discussions, as well as providing consultation support for teachers. Special attention will be given to active, problem-based, blended, and digital learning technologies, inclusive education, and modern teaching methods.

The Centre will serve as a platform for exchanging experience, disseminating best practices, and developing a professional community of teachers not only in the region but across Ukraine; it will also help strengthen cooperation between the university, general secondary education institutions, project partners, and European educational institutions.

The opening of the Centre marks an important step for Berdyansk State Pedagogical University toward creating an accessible, innovative, and practice-oriented environment for the continuous professional development of the modern teacher.
