Oleksandra Yavorshchuk, a second-year student majoring in A7 Physical Culture and Sport at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, demonstrated outstanding athletic performance at the WFMC World Championship, winning four gold medals and one silver medal.

An International Stage for Sporting Achievement
From October 2 to 4, 2026, the WFMC World Championship took place in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, bringing together athletes from more than 20 countries. The championship featured over 20 martial arts disciplines, including taekwondo, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and grappling.

Among the participants was BSPU student Oleksandra Yavorshchuk, who once again demonstrated her ability to compete at an international level.

A Special Challenge — the Grand Champion Category
This year’s championship presented a particularly demanding challenge for Oleksandra, as she competed for the first time in the adult Grand Champion category, where athletes compete regardless of weight category or gender.

In the final bout, she faced an opponent competing in the weight category of up to 90 kg. Despite the considerable difference in weight, the contest was intense and closely fought. The BSPU student displayed determination and technical skill, narrowly losing to her opponent.

Oleksandra therefore secured the silver medal in the adult Grand Champion category — an exceptional result in her debut in this division.

Four Gold Medals and International Recognition
Her performance in the Grand Champion category was only one part of a successful world championship. Oleksandra also excelled in other disciplines, winning four gold medals and one silver medal in total.

With these achievements, she became the tournament’s most successful participant by number of medals, repeating her accomplishment from two years earlier.

A Source of Pride for the Faculty and University
Oleksandra Yavorshchuk’s sporting achievements reflect her perseverance, determination, physical preparation, and commitment to continual improvement.

It is especially encouraging that she combines international competitive sport with her higher education studies in A7 Physical Culture and Sport at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.

We sincerely congratulate Oleksandra Yavorshchuk on her outstanding World Championship results! We are proud of our student and wish her many more international victories and sporting achievements!
