The event was organised with the participation of the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Education Content Modernization” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the 4 People educational platform, and the NGO “Agency for Sustainable Development and Educational Initiatives.”
Modern Educational Approaches and Practice-Oriented Learning
The course aimed to enhance teachers’ professional competencies, introduce contemporary physical education teaching methods, and promote effective educational practices aligned with the principles of the New Ukrainian School reform.
The programme covered three interconnected modules:
Particular attention was paid to competency-based education, innovative teaching technologies, effective organisation of pupils’ physical activity, safe and inclusive learning environments, and strategies for developing sustainable motivation for regular physical activity.
Professional Development and Future Teacher Preparation
Participation in the course provided valuable professional development opportunities for the academic staff of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods. It supported the expansion of their methodological expertise and encouraged the integration of contemporary teaching practices into university education.
For students preparing to become physical education teachers, the event offered an opportunity to deepen their understanding of modern lesson requirements, explore practice-oriented teaching methods, and become more familiar with the professional responsibilities of teachers in the context of educational reform.
Integrating Innovative Teaching Practices into University Education
The knowledge and methodological approaches gained during the course can contribute to updating course content, improving teaching materials, organising practical classes, and strengthening students’ preparation for school teaching placements.
The participation of BDPU lecturers and students in nationwide educational initiatives demonstrates the Department’s continued commitment to professional development, pedagogical innovation, educational quality assurance, and the preparation of competent future teachers capable of meeting the challenges of the New Ukrainian School.
