Modern higher education is increasingly viewed not only as a source of profound theoretical knowledge but also as the ability of graduates to quickly adapt to the demands of the real economy. At Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, active work is underway to update and improve educational programmes. One of the key stages of this process was the participation of the academic staff in the large-scale nationwide project «Uni-Biz Bridge: Practice-Oriented Vector».
The project became an effective platform for interaction between the academic community and leading Ukrainian companies, including VAT Ukraine, Deloitte, MHP, Carlsberg Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, and PwC Ukraine. During the intensive programme, participants explored the most up-to-date management approaches, which are planned to be integrated into lecture courses and practical training for future managers and finance professionals in the near term.
Within the framework of the project, particular attention was given to analysing practical management approaches and the transition from directive management models to managerial coaching. Special emphasis was placed on creating an environment that supports employee development depending on the level of professional maturity. The study of motivation mechanisms and conflict management techniques at the regulation stage will now be integrated into courses on Human Resource Management and Communication Management.
Together with experts from Deloitte, a strategy for coexistence with artificial intelligence was developed, where technology is viewed not as a replacement for humans but as a tool for enhancing their capabilities. The ability to use large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude for analytics, forecasting, structuring information, and creating mind maps in NotebookLM has been identified as a fundamental competency for training modern professionals.
In contemporary work environments, identifying sources of distraction has become a critical skill. Drawing on the experience of MHP experts, practical techniques were examined, ranging from monotasking to digital hygiene. The implementation of these approaches in the educational process will enable future leaders to consciously manage their focus and reduce stress levels in multitasking environments.
The analysis of case studies presented by Carlsberg Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine provided deeper insights into sustainable development strategies, youth internship programmes, and mechanisms for managing market expectations. The final stage of the intensive programme featured a session delivered by PwC Ukraine dedicated to emotional maturity. Emotion mapping and the development of empathy were identified as key soft skills necessary for building leadership qualities in a multicultural environment.
All recommendations and insights obtained within the Uni-Biz Bridge project will be considered during the further revision and updating of the educational programmes «Management of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Services», «Management of Organisations», «Management», and «Finance, Banking and Insurance». The priority goal remains the preparation of competitive professionals ready to meet the challenges of the real business environment.
