At a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the landscape of education and research, Ukrainian scholars and educators need not only new tools but also a new culture of their responsible use. This is precisely the focus of the professional development online course “Science × AI: A New Paradigm,” jointly organized by the NGO Progresylni and the Ukrainian Office for Research Integrity.
The program is designed for educators, administrators, and researchers who seek to adapt to the new educational reality where AI becomes a daily tool; to learn how to implement artificial intelligence effectively and responsibly in research activities; and to ensure academic integrity, particularly in the context of active use of digital technologies.
Participants of the course have the opportunity to obtain a professional development certificate worth 1 ECTS credit (30 hours). The training takes place from 24 to 28 November.
Today I attended one of the key lectures of the course. The speakers were:
– Yana Sychikova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Research at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University;
– Natalia Tsybuliak, PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Psychology and Speech Therapy at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
The experts presented a highly relevant topic: “From Detectors to Transparency: How the Culture of AI Use in Science Is Changing.” The lecture focused on the evolution of attitudes toward AI, the risks and myths surrounding detection tools, issues of academic integrity, and practical guidance for researchers on the responsible use of digital instruments.
The “Science × AI: A New Paradigm” course demonstrates that responsible use of AI is not about restrictions, but about building a new research culture where technologies support scientific development and promote openness and integrity.
I consider participation in this course professionally meaningful, as it allows me to update my knowledge, gain practical insights, and integrate modern technological approaches into my own research work.
