Berdyansk is Ukraine, and it will always be like that!

On September 16, 2024, the assistant of the Department of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Psychological and Pedagogical Education and Arts, Karina Koval, held a faculty-wide curatorial hour for students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education, specialty 013 Primary education, dedicated to the 197th anniversary of the founding of the city of Berdyansk and anniversary of liberation from Nazism.

Applicants and teachers had the opportunity to flip through the pages of the history of our native city, in particular, to learn that its establishment was connected with economic benefits, and for a long time Berdyansk played a key role as an industrial and commercial center. The countdown to the beginning of the history of Berdyan State Pedagogical University and the rapid development of education turned out to be no less interesting.

Traditionally, starting from September 17, 1943, we celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of Berdyansk from Nazism during the Second World War. These historical events brought only grief and destruction, but thanks to the strength and indomitability of our people, we once again managed to rebuild the city and continue to develop it. Unfortunately, even today our Berdyansk is temporarily occupied, and we are scattered all over the world and are still as indomitable and morally stable.

As Karina Valentynivna pointed out, for whom Berdyansk is a native home, some remember it as where they spent unforgettable student years, perhaps for some it is the resort coast of the warmest Sea of ​​Azov, where they came to rest with their parents. There is also someone who has never actually been to this cozy town, but has already visited it virtually, studying at BDPU as a temporarily relocated educational institution. We certainly have our own impressions of Berdyansk, but we all share a love for our native city, land, and Ukraine!

The participants actively shared warm memories of the city, recalled personal interesting adventures related to Berdyansk, the university. We are approaching victory together! We believe that soon we will meet in the pearl of the Northern Azov region and return to the cozy auditoriums of the Alma mater.
