Traditionally, at the end of October, the Faculty of Psychological and Pedagogical Education and the Arts at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University launches Pedagogy Week – an event that unites everyone who has devoted their life to one of the most important missions: educating the younger generation. It is not just a series of activities, but a true professional and spiritual celebration for those taking their first steps toward their future profession.

This year, Pedagogy Week began with an informational and educational event, #EduAgainstBullying (speaker – Karina Koval, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy). The event aimed to enhance the pedagogical mastery and social responsibility of higher education students, as well as to foster a culture of respect, mutual support, and a safe educational environment – essential components of modern teacher education. Teachers and students actively participated, jointly exploring the issues of bullying and constructive ways to respond to such situations.

During the online meeting, students had the opportunity to share their own associations with the concept of “bullying”, discuss the feelings of those who become its victims, and reflect on how future teachers can help transform the culture of relationships in general secondary education institutions. The role of a teacher as a leader of educational change cannot be overstated, as it largely depends on them whether a child feels supported and understood, or remains alone with their problem.

In conclusion, participants agreed on one key idea – a safe educational environment begins with each of us. Sometimes, all it takes is a kind word and genuine support.

Pedagogy Week continues, and the #EduAgainstBullying event has become a true source of inspiration for everyone who believes that education is not only about knowledge – it is, above all, about respect, support, and tolerance.
