Faculty Members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance — Participants of the All-Ukrainian Professional Seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, and Management

On October 16, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Professional Seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the fields of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, and Management took place. The event was organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance in partnership with the State University of Trade and Economics, bringing together the national academic community — more than 150 in-person and over 280 online participants.

The purpose of the seminar was to discuss current issues related to improving the quality assurance system of higher education in the context of modern challenges, integrating Ukrainian education into the European Higher Education Area, and implementing best practices in academic integrity, institutional development, and educational program accreditation.

The seminar featured a constructive professional discussion, experience sharing, presentations of innovations in quality assurance and case studies from sectoral expert councils, as well as effective communication among members of the National Agency, Sectoral Expert Councils (SEC), Educational and Methodological Commissions (EMC), academic staff, university management, employers, and stakeholders.

Berdyansk State Pedagogical University was represented by the faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance: Dr. of Economics, Professor Liudmyla Zavidna; Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Kateryna Lemish; Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Olena Tokrenko; Senior Lecturer Viktoriia Shvachko.

They contributed to discussions on improving the quality of educational programs in the specializations “Management,” “Tourism,” and “Hotel and Restaurant Business” enhancing students’ practical training, and developing internal quality assurance systems within higher education institutions.

Special attention was given to issues of university-business cooperation, academic mobility, and preparing students to meet labor market challenges in the fields of tourism and management.

The participation of the faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance of BSPU in the seminar promotes the enhancement of professional competence, expansion of scientific and educational partnerships, and implementation of innovative approaches to quality assurance in the educational process at the university.
