«Find Out and Get Involved»: Student Life at BDPU Continues

Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) hosted its traditional “Learn and Join In” online information session, offering an opportunity to discuss student life, avenues for self-realization, and active participation in the university community.

Today, BSPU continues its operations under new circumstances. While the familiar classrooms, corridors, and campus spaces have changed, the university’s values, traditions, culture, and the people who continue to shape its history remain constant.

University life encompasses far more than just lectures, seminars, exams, and academic assignments. It is a pivotal time for students to discover new opportunities, explore their identities, develop their talents, and find friends and like-minded peers. Students are an integral part of the university’s history; through their ideas, achievements, and active engagement, they represent BSPU and shape its modern identity.

Extracurricular activities are a vital component of student life. Faculty-based groups, creative collectives, clubs, training sessions, workshops, and other initiatives offer students the chance not only to enjoy their time but also to acquire new skills, take initiative, work in teams, and bring their own ideas to life.

The format of university life is currently evolving to adapt to changing circumstances. While some events take place online, opportunities for in-person interaction are gradually increasing. Members of the university community are meeting in various cities across Ukraine: psychological support sessions are held in Kyiv, workshops are organized in Zaporizhzhia, and training sessions and other activities take place in Lviv and Skhidnytsia.

Such gatherings demonstrate that student life at BDPU continues and that the university community remains active and united. Traditions endure even when customary forms of interaction and communication change.

During the “Learn and Join In” event, participants had the opportunity to find out more about BDPU’s faculty-based clubs and creative groups. Group leaders and moderators spoke about their organizations’ activities, their specific operations, and the opportunities they offer to members.

BDPU hosts a wide range of clubs and creative groups covering diverse fields—from art, dance, literature, and creative pursuits to psychology, sports, volunteering, leadership, and personal development. For those interested in academics and research, there are clubs focused on mathematics, economics, law, history, linguistics, literary studies, and media, as well as initiatives involving foreign languages, translation, STEM, and information literacy. Creative groups offer opportunities to engage in design, dance, theater, literature, mobile photography, and other forms of creative expression. A special place is held by clubs and groups focused on personal and professional development. These include a psychology club, a volunteer training program, a leadership academy, a student tourism hub, and clubs dedicated to debating and self-discovery. Thus, anyone interested can find an initiative within the university that aligns with their interests, helps unlock their talents, fosters new skills, connects them with like-minded people, and allows them to become an active part of the BDPU community.

BDPU’s faculty-based clubs are open to everyone. Whether a participant is a student, a faculty member, or a staff member, they can find an activity that matches their interests and helps them realize their full potential.
