Karazin Medical Journals become the first in Ukraine to implement the GAIDeT taxonomy, developed by BSPU researchers.

The scientific journals of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University have become the first in Ukraine to openly implement the GAIDeT (Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy), developed by researchers of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University in collaboration with colleagues.

This concerns the following series:

  • Bulletin of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Series: Medicine;
  • Problems of Modern Science and Practice. Series: Medicine;
  • Bulletin of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Series: Dentistry;
  • Bulletin of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Series: Immunology.

What does GAIDeT bring?

  • a requirement for full disclosure of AI use in articles;
  • a clear definition of tasks delegated to AI, with responsibility for results remaining with humans;
  • a ban on the hidden use of AI or fabricated sources;
  • strengthened data protection and adherence to ethical standards.

Editorial policies are built in line with the recommendations of ICMJE and COPE and now integrate the international standard for transparent disclosure of AI contributions — GAIDeT (Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy).

This step makes Karazin journals pioneers in the field of responsible AI use in scientific publishing and demonstrates that the GAIDeT taxonomy, which after its publication in the journal Accountability in Research is already gaining global recognition, is becoming a universal tool for universities, editors, and researchers across many countries.
