On December 11, 2025, Berdyansk State Pedagogical University hosted a ceremonial awarding of students who won prizes in the XVI International Taras Shevchenko Language and Literature Competition for Pupils and Students, as well as in the XXVI International Petro Yatsyk Ukrainian Language Competition.
Today, the promotion of the Ukrainian language among young people is gaining particular importance, and these two competitions play a significant role in fostering linguistic culture, developing creativity, and deepening interest in the native language.
BDPU students not only took part – they demonstrated a high level of knowledge, showed creative potential, and won prizes in various categories.
The ceremonial event, held on the Zoom platform, was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Studies, Associate Professor Maryna Mykolaivna Bohdanova, who welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of language competitions for the student community.

After the announcement of the results, the Head of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature and Comparative Literary Studies, Professor Olha Kharlan, joined in congratulating the winners. She highlighted the creativity of the students who completed one of the competition tasks – writing a haiku about Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko – and read their works during the event.
