To mark World AIDS Day, which is observed annually on December 1, an online educational session titled “Red Ribbon of Unity” was held at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
The event was moderated by Nataliia Kryvun, Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Choreography and Fitness.
The aim of the session was to draw students’ attention to the issue of HIV spread, increase awareness about the ways the infection is transmitted, and promote responsible attitudes toward personal health.
During the meeting, participants viewed informational materials about HIV/AIDS, learned about modern approaches to prevention and treatment, and discussed common myths that still persist in society. Special attention was given to tolerance and support for people living with HIV, as prejudice and stigma often become barriers to timely testing and treatment.
The online educational session demonstrated that even a remote format can be an effective tool for raising awareness and uniting young people around important social issues. The event served as a reminder of the need for responsible attitudes toward one’s own health and the importance of fostering a culture of tolerance and mutual support in society.
