December 12-17, 2025 at the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Teaching Methods of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Technological Education held the defense of qualification theses by students pursuing the second (Master’s) level of higher education in full-time and part-time study programs in the specialties «014 Secondary Education (Mathematics)», «014 Secondary Education (Physics and Astronomy)», and «105 Applied Physics and Nanomaterials». The topics of 45 theses corresponded to the subject area and covered current and multifaceted issues of modern teaching methodologies in mathematics, physics and astronomy in general secondary and vocational pre-higher education institutions, as well as in the field of nanomaterials science. The degree candidates prepared engaging and comprehensive presentations for their defense, which were grounded in their own pedagogical experience and diverse scholarly publications.

Master’s students in mathematics presented the results of their research devoted to the conceptual foundations of the development of national school mathematics education in the context of European integration, effective approaches to teaching fractions, the use of STEM technologies and innovative teaching tools in mathematics lessons. Particular attention was given to the development of mathematical competence through didactic games and extracurricular activities, the implementation of gamification and interactive technologies, and the realization of problem-based and integrated learning. Works on the foundations of fractal theory in elective teaching, the improvement of specialized education based on British experience, as well as methodological features of overcoming students’ learning losses in mathematics proved to be of significant interest.

Master’s students in physics presented research on the study of fundamental experiments in quantum optics, the use of the STEM approach in upper secondary school, the application of interactive technologies in developing students’ cognitive interest, the improvement of laboratory work in mechanics under distance learning conditions, and other topics.

The examination committee highly evaluated the quality of the completed research, its practical significance and relevance to modern education. The graduates demonstrated profound theoretical knowledge, mastery of contemporary teaching methodologies, and readiness for innovative pedagogical activity. Among the best, special mention should be made of the presentations by: Daryna Nemchenko, Anna Plaksiichuk, Vadym Samoilenko, Hanna Saraka, Liliia Shakirova (group m2ma); Inesa Borsuk, Svitlana Denysenko, Kateryna Yelizarova, Artem Kovalenko, Anastasiia Kovba, Kyrylo Netyksha, Nadiia Piven, Olena Pryshliak, Inna Siriniok, Larysa Tykhonova, Svitlana Umanets (group m2ma-z); Danylo Chinikalov (group m2fi); Serhii Holdaiev, Anna Honcharova, Zulfiia Ovcharenko (group m2fi-z).

We sincerely congratulate the graduates on their successful defense and wish them fruitful professional activity, creative achievements and inspiration in the noble cause of educating and nurturing future generations!
