Tanzplan Ukraine

On October 15, 2025, Associate Professor Yuliia Taranenko, Head of the Department of Choreography and Fitness at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, took part in the inaugural round table discussion of “Tanzplan Ukraine”, organized by the Impulse Transformation Platform Charitable Foundationwith the support ofBureau Ritter and in cooperation with the Department of Choreography and Dance Sports of the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine. The meeting was moderated by Victor RUBAN.

The aim of the event was to bring together representatives of key proactive higher education institutions in the field of choreography from various regions of Ukraine in order to collectively identify the most important issues in the development of dance in Ukraine. The participants discussed how these issues could be addressed through joint efforts, what resources are currently available, and what additional resources are still needed.

Researchers, educators, artists, heads of choreographic ensembles, and representatives from 13 higher education institutions from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Uman, Kharkiv, Kherson, Ternopil, and Berdyansk (Zaporizhzhia region) joined the event.

During the meeting, participants presented their institutions and highlighted the current challenges in training professional choreographers under modern conditions. They also learned about the experience of the German initiative, its achievements, and its challenges. We were pleased to meet Madeline Ritter, Director, and Isa Kohier, expert from Bureau Ritter (Berlin).

In the course of collaborative work, the participants outlined the next steps that can be taken together in the near future. These efforts aim to support the development of dance as an art form in Ukraine and to enhance its advocacy and promotion at both national and international levels.
