Recently, on the occasion of the Science Festival and the Week of Technological Education, Iryna ZHUK, a graduate of BSPU majoring in A4 Secondary Education (Technologies), joined the campaign “Threads That Write History,” which took place at the “Baida” hub (Berдянськ Out-of-School Education Institution “Palace of Children and Youth”).
Those present heard a touching personal story about embroidered items left behind in the occupied territory; the speaker managed to save and bring with her only one towel (rushnyk) that she had embroidered with her own hands. The participants of the meeting discussed the richness of the symbolism of Ukrainian ornament, the traditions of creating vyshyvankas, and their role in everyday life and on holidays. It was emphasized that every pattern is a carrier of family memory, history, and cultural heritage.
Special attention was paid to the presentation of the authentic ornament of Berdiansk and the Azov region. The yellow and brown shades in it reflect the boundless steppes of Zaporizhzhia, the image of the sun embodies the famous marine sunrises and sunsets, and the steppe flowers symbolize the combination of tenderness and resilience inherent in our native land.
The atmosphere of unity and support was highlighted in his address by the director of the institution, Oleh Balaban, who thanked everyone present for preserving national identity and faithfulness to native traditions.
