TikTok as an Image-Building Component of BSPU

In today’s information space, social media platforms have become an essential tool for building a positive image of a higher education institution. Today, TikTok stands out as one of the most dynamic platforms, allowing institutions not only to share student life but also to introduce a wide audience to the university’s activities, traditions, achievements, and opportunities.

The official TikTok page of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University was launched on April 1, 2026. In a relatively short period, the platform has become an important component of the university’s media outreach. Since its launch, around 300 videos have been published, and the number of subscribers has reached 452.

The content on the page is diverse, covering the educational process, student leisure, university events, creative initiatives, and introductions to faculties, professors, and students. Thanks to this blend, TikTok has become a platform that presents the university as vibrant, modern, and open to young people.

It is particularly rewarding that many videos reach the recommendation feeds and connect with audiences far beyond the university community. The most popular video garnered over 100.3 thousand views. Videos with 17.3 thousand and 13 thousand views also drew significant user interest. These numbers reflect the audience’s genuine interest in university life and prove the effectiveness of the chosen communication format.

Importantly, the growth of the TikTok page was made possible by the active participation of students who enthusiastically join the content creation process. Sincere thanks go to the students who consistently support university initiatives and take part in filming: Kateryna Bukhtiiarova, Yevheniia Lysenko, Yehor Burylkov, Alona Naizhalia, Kateryna Hrudiienko, and Neonila Derbenyova. Thanks to their active involvement, creativity, and dedication, the page is continually filled with engaging and relevant content.

Today, TikTok is not merely an entertainment platform, but also an effective tool for promoting the university. Through short videos, prospective applicants, students, alumni, and anyone interested can get a glimpse of authentic life at BSPU, feel its atmosphere, and see for themselves that the university is not just about studying, but a space for growth, creativity, and new opportunities.
