On March 17, 2026, the Department of Social Work and Inclusive Education at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) organized an important informational event – a presentation of elective educational components for first- (bachelor’s) and second- (master’s) level students of the I10 Social Work and Counseling and 231 Social Work programs. The event aimed to familiarize students with opportunities for selecting courses to build individualized educational trajectories, opening new horizons for the development and specialization of each student.

Students had the opportunity to learn which courses would be available for selection in the next semester and to discuss how to properly structure their individual educational paths to maximize their strengths and interests. In addition, students learned that they could choose not only individual components of the educational program but also certificate programs, which allow them to further develop practical skills and gain specialized knowledge in various fields. This opens new opportunities for career development and enhances competitiveness in the labor market. This year, the department offered both bachelor’s and master’s students certificate programs such as “Youth Worker,” “Social Mediation,” and “Management of Social Institutions.”

Each instructor presented their course in a creative way, which became one of the highlights of the event. Some used interactive games to engage students, while others conducted workshops or practical demonstrations, helping students better understand how theoretical knowledge can be applied in practice. This approach not only captured students’ interest but also helped visualize what the courses would look like in the upcoming semester.

Such events are an important step in enabling students to shape their interests and individual educational paths from the very first year. This approach promotes a deeper understanding of personal professional priorities and provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills as effectively as possible.

The presentation generated significant interest among students, confirmed by numerous questions and active discussions regarding the courses available in the next semester. This will help students make informed choices, taking into account their academic interests and career goals.
