On March 22, 2022, Professor Yevhen Mykolaiovych Khrykov, a leading figure in educational management at Luhansk National University, was killed by Russian aggressors. During his lifetime, he shaped modern approaches to educational institution management and was highly demanding when it came to academic integrity. He served as a mentor and guide in training a new generation of academic and pedagogical professionals.
At the initiative of Professor Vasyl Kryzhko, the annual Memorial Readings in honor of Yevhen Khrykov were established. The academic community in the field of educational management supported this initiative. The Readings have been held since 2023 and have now gained the status of an international conference.
On April 3, 2026, scholars from Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BDPU), including faculty members and postgraduate students of the Department of Pedagogy – V. Kryzhko, O. Starokozhko, O. Balaban, B. Syvukha, Yu. Kondratenko, and A. Skliarov – traditionally took an active part in the Second International Readings.
Vasyl Kryzhko delivered a presentation titled «Singular Approaches of Prof. Y. Khrykov in Educational Institution Management.» Postgraduate student O. Balaban presented an engaging topic: «Key Directions in the Functioning of Extracurricular Education Institutions under Conditions of Relocation.»
The Readings concluded with a consolidated position of the participants regarding the accreditation procedures for educational programs and the defense of PhD dissertations introduced by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA). A decision was made to revive the All-Ukrainian Association of Researchers in Educational Management, whose legal resources will enable scholars to address regulatory and legislative issues.
