On September 17, a guest lecture «From Idea to Result: Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics» was held at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Computer and Technological Education of BSPU, delivered by Andriy Revenko, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, Research Fellow at University College Dublin (Ireland), and alumnus of our university. The event became a unique opportunity for students of all specialties and education levels at the faculty, as well as colleague-instructors, to become familiar with advanced mathematical modeling technologies that are actively used in modern scientific and engineering practice.
COMSOL Multiphysics is a powerful software environment for multifaceted physical modeling that allows solving complex scientific and engineering problems. The main emphasis was placed on demonstrating the complete work cycle: from formulating an initial idea to obtaining ready results of mathematical modeling.
Students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the structure of projects in COMSOL, which includes several key stages:
Familiarity with professional modeling tools of the COMSOL Multiphysics class opens new opportunities for students in scientific research, thesis work and further professional activity. We express gratitude to Andriy Revenko for supporting his alma mater and for the interesting lecture, which became a bright example of how modern physical education can successfully combine fundamental knowledge with practical skills of working with advanced technologies, preparing competitive specialists for Ukraine’s educational sector.
