In September, the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports, and Human Health held a ceremonial conclusion of the first stage of the annual “Student of the Year – 2025” competition. This event was a great opportunity to recognize the most active, talented, and successful students who have distinguished themselves not only academically but also in science, sports, and the arts.
This year, the competition featured three categories: Researcher of the Year, Performer of the Year, and Athlete of the Year.
In the Researcher of the Year category, the winner was Daria Khorolets, a 4th-year bachelor’s student majoring in 024 Choreography. Daria demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, actively participated in scientific conferences and research competitions, and implemented her own research initiatives.
Creative students had the opportunity to showcase their talents in the Performer of the Year category. All participants are active contributors to creative projects, artistic performances, and cultural events at the university. Acknowledgment letters for their participation were awarded to second-year bachelor’s students majoring in 024 Choreography — Oleksandra Bartoshevych and Maria Taranenko, as well as third-year student Valeriia Mordvinova. The winner of this nomination was Alina Shyp, a second-year student of the same program.
Given the profile of the faculty, the Athlete of the Year category was the most anticipated. It featured the best representatives of student sports — champions and medalists of various competitions, active participants at multiple levels, and true leaders in their sports. This category highlighted the students’ high level of physical training and strong sporting spirit. Acknowledgments for participation were given to third-year students majoring in 017 Physical Culture and Sports — Yaroslav Tkachenko and Myroslav Tkachenko. The winner was Anatolii Fesenko, a second-year student in the same specialty.
The competition committee included:
The committee praised the high level of preparation of all participants and emphasized the importance of well-rounded development for today’s student youth.
The winners of the first stage will go on to represent the faculty in the university-level stage of the “Student of the Year – 2025” competition.
We sincerely thank all students for their active participation, and extend our gratitude to the teachers and mentors who continuously support and inspire young people to strive for new achievements!
