Professional Cooperation for the Development of Choreographic Education

In accordance with the work plan of the Choreography Section of the City Methodological Association of Art School Teachers in Zaporizhzhia, a seminar for teachers of choreographic disciplines and students of extracurricular education was held on the topic “Fundamentals of Contemporary Dance.”

The event took place on October 31, 2025, at the branch of Zaporizhzhia Children’s Art School No. 3. Its goal was to enhance the professional level of teachers and to familiarize them with modern trends in the teaching of choreographic disciplines.

The master class was conducted by Nataliia Kryvun, Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports, and Human Health, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Choreography and Fitness at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.

During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to learn about the basic principles of contemporary dance, the peculiarities of working with body, rhythm, and space. Ms. Nataliia demonstrated practical exercises aimed at developing flexibility, coordination, and movement expressiveness. She also presented a contemporary dance workbook developed by Yuliia Taranenko, Head of the Department of Choreography and Fitness, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.

The atmosphere of the event was inspiring and creative. Students of extracurricular education actively participated in the practical part, while teachers asked questions, shared their experiences, and exchanged impressions. The seminar became an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and for improving pedagogical mastery.

Participants expressed sincere gratitude to Nataliia Kryvun for a meaningful, dynamic, and inspiring master class, and to the organizers – for providing an opportunity for professional communication and development.
