Faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management and Finance of Berdiansk State Pedagogical University (Kateryna Lemish, Tetiana Nestorenko, Viktoriia Shvachko) took part in the international scientific and practical webinar “Cuisine and Restaurant Business of Serbia”, devoted to current issues in the development of gastronomy and the restaurant business within the European context.

The international event was organized for managers and educators in the hospitality sector and was fully funded by La Fondation pour la Formation Hôtelière, which confirms its high professional level and practical orientation.

The webinar was delivered by leading scholars and practitioners of the Department of Gastronomy, Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, University of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia), namely: Stefan Šmugović, Goran Radivojević, Velibor Ivanović, Mateja Stanojević, Dr Bojana Kalenjuk Pivarski.

The event was held on January 26, 2025, in an online format via the Zoom platform, with live streaming from the University of Novi Sad (Serbia). The working language of the webinar was English.

The programme covered a number of key thematic areas, including a presentation of the educational programmes of the Faculty of Gastronomy at the University of Novi Sad; the tourism and cultural potential of Serbia; the traditions of Serbian national cuisine presented in the format of a practical video master class; as well as current trends in the development of the restaurant business in Serbia, with an emphasis on the integration of traditional approaches and innovative solutions.

Participation of the faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management and Finance of BSPU in international professional events contributes to the strengthening of international academic cooperation, the renewal of educational content, and the implementation of modern European practices in the training of specialists in economics, management, finance, and the hospitality sector.
