Review of scientific and research activities: march meeting of the Academic Council

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Yana Sychikova, presented the results of scientific and research activities for 2025.

The results were summed up at the meeting of the Academic Council on April 26, 2026.

Talked about:

• dynamics of publications;
• participation in grant programs;
• development of international cooperation;
• integration into the global scientific space;
• implementation of the principles of open science;
• development of the institutional repository;
• increasing the presence of the university in international academic environments.

We offer a brief overview of some of the most striking points of the report:

• according to the general fund, science funding in 2025 increased by 8.5 times compared to 2021;
• last year, 5 state budget research projects were implemented;
• as of now, BSPU has 156 partner institutions and 180 co-authored publications;
• our university is a leader among all higher education institutions of Ukraine in terms of participation in Cost Action;
• the total number of publications placed in the repository is 5185, 2160 are indexed in Google Academy.

Berdyansk State Pedagogical University has worthy ranking positions, in particular, 7th place in the list of the best pedagogical educational institutions of Ukraine, 79th place among the TOP-200 HEIs of Ukraine.

One of the most significant achievements of BSPU is the successful completion of state certification in three areas:

• social direction – category B;
• natural science – category B;
• humanitarian – category B.

The academic council also presented internal scientific ratings: faculty, department, rating of department heads, personal.

The top three in terms of personal rating were Igor Lyman, Natalia Tsybulyak and Anastasia Popova. The department of history and philosophy leads in the department rating, and Victoria Konstantinova leads in the rating of heads.
