Within the framework of ensuring the quality of higher education and improving the training of future specialists in physical culture and sports, a traditional discussion of the draft educational and professional program “Physical Culture and Sports” (2026) of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education took place.

Representatives of the academic community, employers, teachers, higher education applicants and graduates participated in the event. Among the invited stakeholders were the director of the State Olympic Training Center for Badminton and Beach Volleyball Oleg Savchuk and the deputy head of this center Artem Genov.

Ruslan Litus, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Basic Military Training of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Master of Sports of Ukraine in weightlifting, who shared his practical experience in training specialists in modern conditions.

The discussion of the OPP project “Physical Culture and Sports” was also joined by graduates of the educational program Vlada Gazalova and Olena Vasylenko, who shared their own professional experience and vision of the relevant competencies of a modern specialist.

The meeting brought together a wide range of stakeholders, which allowed for a comprehensive consideration of the content of the educational and professional program “Physical Culture and Sports”, its relevance and compliance with modern challenges and needs of the labor market.

During the event, the guarantor of the educational and professional program, Associate Professor, Master of Sports of Ukraine Lyudmila Konovalska, spoke, outlining the main directions of updating the OPP for 2026, focusing on the need to improve the quality of practical training of applicants and expand cooperation with employers.

During the discussion, stakeholders expressed a number of constructive proposals for improving the educational and professional program for 2026. Particular attention was paid to the need to strengthen the practical training of future coaches to work with war veterans and combatants.

The importance of systematic monitoring of the educational and professional program was separately emphasized. For this purpose, a stakeholder survey was conducted, the results of which are taken into account when updating the content of the OPP and improving the educational process.
