«Territory of Thoughts» – an online discussion with graduates of the FDSSO

As part of the FDSSO Science Festival 2026, an online discussion “Territory of Thoughts” was held, which brought together students, teachers and graduates of the Faculty of Preschool, Special and Social Education of different years and forms of study. The event became a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience and discussion of relevant aspects of the professional development of a modern specialist in the field of special education.

The meeting was moderated by Daryna Lytvychenko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Applied Psychology and Speech Therapy, who ensured meaningful and dynamic communication between the participants of the event.

Graduates of the faculty of different years and forms of study, who today successfully realize themselves in the field of speech therapy, psychology, sensory and corrective development of children, joined the discussion:

Gyulnara Tsisarenko – teacher, practical psychologist, speech therapist-defectologist, Soft Skills teacher, trainer of educational initiatives of The LEGO Foundation – shared her own experience of professional development, outlined the importance of continuous learning and development of professional competencies of a modern teacher.

Anna Klets – practicing speech therapist, co-owner of the Logo.Klets speech therapy studio (Khmelnytskyi), teacher’s assistant – focused on the peculiarities of combining professional activity, development of private practice and personal self-development.

Bedrynets Daryna – a practicing speech therapist and correctional teacher who works with children with special educational needs, presented her own practical experience of working in the correctional and developmental center “Without Borders” and highlighted modern approaches to organizing correctional assistance for children.

Oksana Shkarabura – a speech therapist, special psychologist, specialist in sensorimotor development of children, certified CLASI specialist, founder of Sensory Space (Pavlograd) – drew attention to the importance of a comprehensive approach to children’s development and the need for continuous professional development of special education specialists.

During the meeting, the participants actively participated in the discussion, asked questions about the first steps in the profession, the features of professional adaptation of young specialists, the development of private practice and the prospects for professional realization in the field of special education.

Conducting such events contributes to the formation of a professional community, the development of academic communication between students and graduates, as well as increasing the motivation of students for professional and personal growth.
