As part of the Science Days 2026, initiated by the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Psychological, Pedagogical Education and Arts, a guest lecture entitled “Positive Transcultural Psychotherapy by N. Peseschkian as an Evidence-Based Scientific Method” was held. The speaker of the event was Pavlo Bachynskyi, a certified psychotherapist in this field and trainer at the Ukrainian Institute of Positive Psychotherapy.
During the lecture, the essence of the method, its main psychotherapeutic approaches, and conceptual paradigm were presented. The speaker outlined the long path of experimental verification of the method’s effectiveness and focused in detail on scientific studies proving its clinical efficacy. Special attention was also devoted to the history of the method’s development — from its origins to the global recognition of Nossrat Peseschkian’s Positive Psychotherapy.
In conclusion, Pavlo Bachynskyi emphasized that this approach is actively developing, supported by strong scientific and therapeutic schools, and has many followers in Ukraine. As a representative of one of these schools, he shared his own practical experience and presented a number of scientific publications translated into Ukrainian, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of Positive Psychotherapy.
The event aroused particular interest among students of the Psychology specialty enrolled in the educational and professional program “Psychology of Training Work.” By mastering the fundamentals of Positive Psychotherapy within the master’s program, students learn to confidently navigate modern psychological approaches that have demonstrated effectiveness in psychotherapeutic practice.
We sincerely thank Pavlo Bachynskyi for delivering such an engaging and informative lecture! We wish him continued professional success, new achievements, and inspiration!
