New format – new emotions: interactive in BSPU Debates

Lecture, German format, game – this is how Thursday evening was spent at Debates of the BSPU. On May 21, 2026, members of the Debates of the Palace of Children and Youth and their leader Lyubov Taukenova visited us! Lyubov Taukenova revealed all the details of the new German debate format for us: a game that will attract the maximum number of interested parties and which will definitely take into account all opinions!

This format is both concise and more free for discussion. It is:

• 2 teams of 2 people;
• 8 speeches in total;
• 2 minutes per speech;
• 12 minutes of free discussion…

This is pure drive, because you have to fit your entire case into 2 minutes, and get the most out of the discussion to convince the judge.

And the most anticipated part of the event is a German-format demonstration game! Topic: “Should we ban social networks?”

The main points of the debate were security and freedom, restrictions and their effectiveness, the impact on the psyche and the benefits of social networks.

The attendees were so enthralled by the event that they wanted to try this format next Friday!
