How can researchers manage work-related stress, maintain psychological flexibility, and find the strength to move forward in times of uncertainty? These questions are particularly relevant to those who continue their academic work amid the challenges of war.
As part of the international Erasmus+ project ReACT, an online programme has been developed to help researchers strengthen their stress management skills and support their psychological well-being. The programme is based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). It combines psychoeducational materials, interactive activities, and practical exercises designed to help participants better understand their responses to stress, navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, and act in accordance with their personal and professional values.
The international ReACT team is now moving into the pilot phase. This stage aims to assess the clarity, usability, and relevance of the programme’s materials to researchers’ needs, while gathering feedback to inform further improvements.
The team at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) invites six researchers to take part in the ReACT programme pilot. Please note that the programme is currently available in English only. Participants should therefore have sufficient English proficiency to engage with the materials and complete the practical activities. Following the pilot, the programme will be refined based on participants’ experiences and feedback. The next step will be the launch of a Ukrainian-language version of ReACT, making these resources more accessible to the Ukrainian academic community.
We want the programme to be not only grounded in scientific evidence but also genuinely useful to researchers navigating the everyday challenges of academic work. This is why participants’ experiences and feedback are particularly valuable.
Interested in taking part?
If you are actively involved in research, have a sufficient command of English, and would like to try the programme, we invite you to express your interest to the ReACT team at BSPU.
The programme is available free of charge at ReACT Intervention Programme.
