Academic Mobility of Choreography Students

Starting from October 1, 2025, the implementation of the Educational Program of Internal Academic Mobility for Higher Education Students “The Art of the Choreographer” began within the field of 02 Culture and Arts, specialty 024 Choreography / B Culture, Arts and Humanities, specialty B6 Performing Arts, specialization B6.03 Choreographic Art.

The program is organized by the Department of Directing and Choreography of the Faculty of Culture and Arts at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, with co-organizers including: Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (Department of Choreography and Fitness), Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture, V. G. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University, and Kherson State University. Each higher education institution is represented by five student choreographers participating in the program.

At the official opening ceremony, Professor Olha Hurenko, First Vice-Rector of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of BDPU. She emphasized the program’s strength, its rich and professional content, and the importance of cooperation among higher education institutions in today’s context. She also expressed gratitude to the organizers for including the university (despite its temporary relocation) in the working group of this educational program.

The schedule of “The Art of the Choreographer” program includes both online (October 1–12 and October 20–31, 2025) and in-person (October 13–19, 2025, in Lviv) learning formats. It features a series of lecture courses on choreographic mastery, Ukrainian folk-stage dance, contemporary choreography, and art studies, as well as master classes in classical, ballroom, Ukrainian folk-stage, and contemporary choreography.

Students will also develop and present a social project involving children, using the facilities of partner institutions: Lviv State Palace of Aesthetic Education of Youth, Secondary School No. 96 (Lviv), LLC “POZ School 3D”, Halychyna Children’s and Youth Creativity Center, Zaliznychnyi District Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity (Lviv).

The lecture series began with introductions to partner institutions and organizers of the “Art of the Choreographer” internal academic mobility program.

An inspiring lecture, “Berdyansk State Pedagogical University – The Heart of the Azov Region” (watch here), was delivered by Professor Olha Hurenko, First Vice-Rector of BDPU. She shared the history of the university, its key activities, and achievements under current circumstances.

The academic mobility program continues, with many exciting formats and activities ahead.
