Anniversary of a true champion who inspires generations

A solemn event was held at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, uniting the scientific, educational and sports community – the celebration of the anniversary of an outstanding personality, a famous athlete, scientist and mentor – Serhiy Georgievich Kushniruk. The event became a symbol of deep respect for a person who, with his work, talent and dedication, made a significant contribution to the development of sports and education in Ukraine.

This year’s event was special, as it combined two significant dates at once – the 70th anniversary of the birthday of the hero of the day and the 50th anniversary of his Olympic victory. This is not just an anniversary – it is a celebration of a life path filled with hard work, high achievements and unquestionable authority.

A festive atmosphere reigned from the first minutes of the event. The welcoming speech contained sincere words of gratitude, pride and admiration for a person whose name is forever inscribed in the history of Ukrainian sports. After all, Serhiy Georgievich Kushniriuk is an Olympic champion, Honored Master of Sports, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.

The celebrations were attended by distinguished guests who shared the joy of the event and expressed their best wishes to the hero of the day. Among them:

• Lyudmila Mykhailivna Bukharina – Deputy Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration;
• Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Zlobynets – Head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration;
• Nataliya Fedorivna Vlasova – Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine;Volodymyr Yevgeniyovich Lobanov – Honorary Member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine;
• Igor Tymofiyovych Bohdanov – Rector of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized Serhiy Georgiyovych’s significant contribution to the development of sports, the Olympic movement and the training of the young generation of specialists. Words of gratitude were expressed for his principledness, professionalism, humanity and ability to unite people around a common goal.

The congratulations from colleagues, deans of university faculties, teachers and students were especially touching. Each of them noted not only professional achievements, but also the human qualities of the hero of the day – wisdom, support, sincerity and dedication to his work.

Representatives of the sports community, in particular the Handball Federation of Ukraine, as well as graduates of the faculty – famous athletes, world and European champions, Paralympians. Their words confirmed that the contribution of Serhiy Georgievich Kushniriuk goes far beyond the university, forming a new generation of successful and purposeful individuals.

The celebration was filled with warmth, sincere emotions and pride for a person who is an example of a true leader. For many years, he not only reached the heights in sports, but also formed a powerful scientific and pedagogical team, developed educational programs, and initiated new traditions and initiatives.

At the end of the celebrations, sincere wishes were expressed for good health, inexhaustible energy, new achievements and further victories. After all, figures like Serhiy Georgievich Kushniriuk not only create history – they inspire, unite and lead!
