«Democracy through actions»: learning to build a democratic society

Head of the Student Council of the Faculty of Preschool, Special and Social Education Klets Kateryna took part in an offline training from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), “Democracy through Actions”, which was held at the Youth Center of the Kirovohrad region.

Since 1994, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) has played a key role in the formation of democratic electoral processes and institutions in Ukraine. Since young people are the driving force of the development of society, (IFES) directs its work to deepen its knowledge about democracy, its principles, teaches to study public opinion, implement initiatives in communities.

Over the course of three days, Kateryna, together with youth leaders, discussed issues of personal identity, human rights, media literacy, Internet security, and inclusion in communities. The participants also had the opportunity to share their own experience of cooperation with communities, to develop new projects for reforming social institutions.
