Faculty Members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University Enhance Their Digital Competence

Faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University — Associate Professors Kateryna Lemish and Tetiana Sydorchenko, and Senior Lecturer Viktoriia Shvachko — took part in the online course “Development of Digital Competence of Academic and Research Staff through Open Educational and Scientific Information Systems”, organized by the Department of Open Educational and Scientific Information Systems of the Institute of Education Digitalization of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.

The course aims to develop the digital literacy of researchers and educators, enhance their proficiency in using modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools and open educational and scientific resources, and promote the effectiveness of teaching and research activities.

Within the framework of the program, participants explored a range of topics relevant to contemporary scholars. During the training, they learned how to effectively apply artificial intelligence technologies for searching and analyzing scientific sources, structuring data, formatting academic texts in LaTeX, and preparing publications and peer reviews in accordance with international academic standards. Special attention was given to issues of academic integrity, particularly the ethical aspects of using AI in the preparation and publication of scientific results.

Participation in this course helps the faculty members of the Department of Economics, Management, and Finance develop their digital competences, integrate modern technologies into the educational process and scientific research, and contribute to the implementation of Ukraine’s educational digital transformation strategy.

The knowledge and skills acquired during the course will serve as a foundation for further improvement of the department’s educational activities and the introduction of innovative approaches to training future specialists in economics, management, and finance.
