May and June traditionally mark the culmination of the academic year for graduating students. For students majoring in 231 “Social Work”, this period is of particular importance, as the final certification concludes a significant stage of their professional development and opens the way to their future careers.
At the Department of Social Work and Inclusive Education, the final certification is not only a formal assessment of learning outcomes but also an opportunity for graduates to demonstrate their ability to apply acquired knowledge to addressing current social challenges, analyse complex life situations, and propose professional solutions aimed at supporting various population groups.
Traditionally, the final certification for students majoring in 231 “Social Work” consisted of three components: the State Examination in Social Work, the Comprehensive Qualification Examination in Social Pedagogy (or Practical Psychology for students enrolled in the educational and professional programme Social Work and Practical Psychology), and the qualification thesis defense. Each component was designed to provide a comprehensive assessment of students’ professional competencies, their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, analyse social issues, and make well-founded professional decisions.
Based on the results of the certification, the Examination Boards noted the graduates’ strong level of professional preparation, their ability to work with professional case studies, analyse complex life circumstances, identify clients’ needs, and develop appropriate interventions in accordance with contemporary approaches to social work practice.
Particular attention was drawn to the topics of the qualification theses, which reflected current societal challenges and the needs of diverse population groups. The research addressed issues such as psychosocial support for survivors of domestic violence, resilience development among future social workers in wartime, youth mental health support, social work with older adults, the impact of social media on young people’s psychosocial well-being, prevention of negative social phenomena, and support for adolescents during their social development.
The qualification theses presented for defense demonstrated the graduates’ professional maturity, their ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with the practical needs of the social sector, and their commitment to finding effective solutions to pressing social challenges.
The final certification once again confirmed that our graduates are well prepared for professional practice, continuous professional development, and active participation in addressing the social challenges of contemporary society.
We sincerely congratulate our graduates on successfully completing this important milestone in their professional journey. We wish them confidence, continued growth, and every success in applying their knowledge, experience, and compassion throughout their future careers.
