On November 2, 2026, the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Human Health at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University held an online presentation of elective courses and certificate programs offered by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods.

During the meeting, academic staff introduced higher education students to the content of the proposed educational components, their practical orientation, and the opportunities to apply the acquired competencies in their future professional activities. The presentation facilitated informed course selection in accordance with students’ individual educational needs and interests.

Nataliia Polishchuk, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods, presented two elective courses: “Anti-Doping Control in Sports” and “Establishment and Management of a Sports Club.” The first course focuses on anti-doping regulations, the principles of fair play, the prevention of doping violations, and the responsibilities of participants in sporting activities. The second course covers the fundamentals of establishing a sports club, planning its activities, personnel management, the organization of sports services, and sports marketing.

Nataliia Samsutina presented the course “Innovative Technologies in Physical Education of University Students,” which focuses on modern approaches to physical education, innovative teaching methods, and the integration of digital tools into the educational process.

Vadym Samoilenko introduced the educational component “Interactive Teaching Tools in Physical Culture and Sports.” The course is designed to develop students’ knowledge and skills in applying interactive teaching approaches, methods, and tools aimed at increasing student engagement and motivation.

Liudmyla Konovalska introduced participants to the course “Professional, Olympic, Non-Olympic, and Adaptive Sports in the Modern Sports System.” The course covers the main areas of the contemporary sports movement, their development characteristics, and the role of adaptive sports in ensuring accessibility and equal opportunities for participation in sporting activities.

Special attention was given to certificate programs as an effective means of deepening professional knowledge and expanding career opportunities. In particular, the certificate program “Adaptive Sports and Sports for War Veterans” was presented. The program aims to develop competencies in adaptive physical culture and sports activities, the organization of accessible sporting events, support for war veterans, and the promotion of their social reintegration through sports.

The presentation of elective courses is an important element in implementing the principles of academic freedom, student-centered learning, and transparency in the educational process. Providing accessible information about the content of educational components enables students to consciously shape their individual learning pathways in accordance with their professional goals.

The Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Teaching Methods continues to improve the elective component of its educational programs by integrating modern scientific and methodological approaches, practice-oriented learning, and the current needs of the physical culture and sports sector.

Making informed educational choices today is an important step toward professional self-realization tomorrow!
