Practice that hits the target: student and graduate of BSPU – organizers of the archery tournament

In December 2025, an open indoor archery tournament among adults and juniors was held at the shooting range of the Youth Sports School No. 1 of the city of Kamiansky. The competition became a notable event for the city’s sports life and a vivid example of the practical implementation of professional competencies formed in the process of training physical culture and sports specialists at the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.

The organizers of the tournament were the Zaskalko couple – Bohdan and Maria.

Maria Zaskalko is a bachelor’s degree holder in the specialty A7 Physical Culture and Sports of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, and Bohdan Zaskalko is a graduate of the master’s degree in the same specialty of BSPU. Their successful organizational activities, professional approach to planning and conducting competitions, as well as effective coaching work convincingly testify to the effectiveness of the system of training coaches and specialists in physical culture and sports at the BDPU.

More than 30 athletes from Kamiansky, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Zhovty Vody and Vilnohirsk took part in the tournament. The competitions were held in two Olympic disciplines – classical and block archery – in the age categories U18, U21, adults and veterans, including combatants.

The tournament was an example of a successful combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during studies at the university with real professional activities in the field of coaching and organizational and methodological work.

Berdyansk State Pedagogical University is sincerely proud of its students and graduates who demonstrate a high level of professional readiness, actively implement the competencies acquired during training and make a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports in Ukraine.
