The results of the lecturers’ work in the Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methods for 2025 have been marked by several significant achievements in the field of professional growth, which are reflected in the outcomes of completed and ongoing internship programs on both domestic and international educational platforms. This dynamic demonstrates the consistent orientation of the department’s lecturers toward continuous professional development and the integration of innovative methodological approaches into pedagogical practice.
The lecturers of the department demonstrate active participation in multidirectional educational initiatives, which evidences their readiness to adapt teaching strategies in accordance with the requirements of the contemporary academic environment and the dynamics of transformational processes in the domestic and global educational paradigm.
The spectrum of professional development areas for lecturers is characterized by considerable diversification. A significant portion of the department’s staff undertakes internships at leading European research universities. Thus, Violetta Panchenko, Dmytro Poberezhnyi, Iryna Shkola, and other lecturers have chosen the University of York (UK) and the University of Helsinki for professional development – academic institutions with recognized reputations in the field of language didactics and foreign language teaching methodology. This cooperation strategy confirms the department’s clear focus on implementing international standards of educational service quality.
Particular attention should be given to projects implemented with organizational support from American educational initiatives. Specifically, Bohdana Saliuk, Iryna Shkola, and other department members are actively involved in the project „English for In-service Science/Math Secondary School Teachers in Ukraine,” which operates under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Civic Initiatives Center. Such international academic mobility facilitates the transfer of advanced methodological developments into the domestic educational context.
A priority direction of the department’s activities also remains constructive collaboration with national scientific hubs and research networks. Oksana Dubrova and Volodymyr Tatarin are integrating into the activities of the Ukrainian Reproducibility Network – an initiative aimed at enhancing the methodological quality and verifiability of scientific research. Additionally, Volodymyr Tatarin is systematically expanding his competence profile in areas of critical importance, including ensuring academic integrity, coordinating interinstitutional educational projects, and implementing advanced digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence tools, in the educational process. His internships encompass both national scientific and educational platforms (ALICE and MOTIVEFHUA projects) and international structures (the “Digital Development Academy”), reflecting a comprehensive approach to mastering contemporary pedagogical practices. Artem Poluliakhov is undergoing an internship at the International Institute of Technologies, which demonstrates the active implementation of the technological component in foreign language teaching methodology.
Thus, the Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methods implements a systematic strategy for the professional development of academic staff through engagement with progressive contemporary scientific hubs and educational platforms at both domestic and international levels. Such multidimensional integration into the global academic space ensures a high level of teaching excellence and compliance with international educational quality standards.
