On 14 October 2026, the Department of Applied Psychology and Speech Therapy of the Faculty of Preschool, Special and Social Education hosted a guest lecture entitled «Organisational and Methodological Foundations of Inclusive Resource Centre Activities». The invited speakers were the Director and specialist consultants of the Municipal Institution ‘Inclusive Resource Centre’ of the Marinka City Military Administration. The event was held for second-year full-time and part-time students as part of the educational component ‘Organisation and Planning of the Work of Special and Inclusive Education Professionals’.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for future specialists to gain first-hand insight into the realities of professional practice in inclusive resource centres, deepen their theoretical knowledge and familiarise themselves with contemporary approaches to organising psychological and educational support for individuals with special educational needs.

During the lecture, the speakers addressed key issues concerning the legal and regulatory framework governing the activities of inclusive resource centres (IRCs), the specific challenges of their operation under martial law, procedures for conducting comprehensive psychological and educational assessments of children’s development, determining levels of support and organising corrective and developmental services. Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of weekly work planning, the use of the automated AS-IRC system, establishing interagency cooperation and providing advisory support to families of individuals with special educational needs.

Of particular value to the students was the opportunity to learn directly from the practical experience of IRC professionals, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the specific nature of their daily work, professional responsibilities and commitment to ensuring high-quality support for every child.

Such meetings contribute to the integration of academic knowledge with professional practice, the development of students’ professional competences and the formation of a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary system of special and inclusive education.

The Department of Applied Psychology and Speech Therapy at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University extends its sincere gratitude to Liudmyla Lysenko, Director of the Municipal Inclusive Resource Centre, and specialist consultants Yelyzaveta Zaiets and Lada Soina for an informative and engaging meeting, their high level of professionalism, openness to dialogue and willingness to share valuable practical experience with future colleagues.

We particularly value our cooperation and look forward to further strengthening our partnership and implementing new joint initiatives.
